The week in pictures

This week in the world of drinks: Exton Park launches its Pinot Meunier Rosé, Hogs Back brewery celebrates 30 years as it prepares for hop harvest, and Kingsland Drinks partners with chef Miguel Barclay.

Hampshire-based vineyard Exton Park previewed its Pinot Meunier Rosé, which is due to be launched in September, at a guided tasting last week at TreeHouse@51. Corinne Seely, Wine Director commented of the new expression: “Pinot Meunier is like a sleeping beauty, a grape that has waited patiently to be awoken and adored. When I tasted the juice from our first pressing of Plot 4, I was astounded by the profusion of the flavours. I knew this plot had the potential to express the unique, chalky vineyard soil to create a wine with a very distinctive personality. The result is something I am extremely proud to present and is the next step in innovation at Exton Park.”

Hogs Back Brewery celebrated its 30th anniversary as the hop harvest approaches by inviting loyal drinkers with younger relatives and friends to join them for a beer at the brewery.

Hogs Back Brewery managing director Rupert Thompson said: “We wanted to celebrate our 30th birthday with thanks to loyal customers who have supported us for 30 years – as without them, we wouldn’t be here today.

“Over the years, TEA has been requested as the beer at many weddings and other celebrations, so for a whole generation of local people, it has a special place in their lives.

“Many also spoke about coming here with their parents to collect a barrel of Tongham TEA and are now doing the same with their own adult children. We’re of course delighted to see this tradition continue, and by inviting some of these younger drinkers to join our celebrations, we hope that they too become lifelong Tongham TEA drinkers!”

Kingsland Drinks has partnered with chef and YouTube star, Miguel Barclay on a digital activation for its Campaneo Spanish wine range. Best known for his innovative budget meal recipes, Barclay is working with Kingsland Drinks on a #dinnerhacks social campaign, with a focus on elevating the everyday.

And hard seltzer brand High Water stepped in amid train strikes by offering a completely free bus service from London to Brighton pier on Saturday 20 August.
