New York brewery lists job vacancies on its beer cans

An independent brewery has taken an unconventional approach to recruitment by advertising its jobs on its beer cans.

Bolton Landing Brewery Company in upstate New York has produced a new beer called Help Wanted, which includes a recruitment drive on its packaging to enlist local workers.

While the brewery has never struggled to hire employees previously, not one single applicant inquired between May and June of this year about any of the company’s seven full- and part- time positions, reported the New York Post. And the indie brewery is in desperate need of extra hands for its busy summer season.

The beer, released on 9 June, is sold by distributors across the state and includes the following plea on the back of its 16 oz can:

“Fan of our beers, like this juicy New England-style IPA? Got some free time on your hands? It sounds like you should try enjoying these great beers as a member of the Bolton Landing Brewing family!”

“Like most businesses this year, we are looking for help in our taproom. We offer competitive pay, room for growth throughout the company, a fun and laid-back work environment, employee outings, and a view that can’t be beat. Email or swing by the taproom to apply.”

According to the New York Post, the brewery has already received at least seven applications since the release of the beer can advert.
