Aldi 3 course Valentine’s Day menu comes in at £10 including wine

Budget supermarket Aldi has revealed its Valentine’s Day menus including a heart shaped three course meal plus wine costing just £10.

Customers can choose from four set menus which will all be available from 9 February. The set menus are on offer as a guide, and shoppers can mix and match dishes if they prefer.

One of the Aldi Valentine’s Day offerings is a three course heart shaped meal for just £5.17, or £9.16 with wine.

It features mini garlic bread pizzas to start, a main dish of lobster pasta and pancakes to finish – plus a bottle of Prosecco.

Meat-lovers can enjoy the set menu of Wagyu pies with triple cooked chips and chocolate profiteroles for £10.47.

The budget supermarket suggests pairing this meal with a bottle of Grapevine Argentinian Malbec, bumping the price up to £14.46.

The next menu is for seafood lovers, and includes a prawn and scallop thermidor followed by a prawn and white wine salmon wellington. You can add a potato dauphinoise and a bottle of Cambalala Savignon Blanc wine for £14.16.

Valentine’s vegans should not fear, as Aldi has a special vegan menu as well. The vegan Valentine option offers two plant-based burgers, a vegetable medley and a vegan molten middle heart with a bottle of Merlot for £10.16.

In recent news, it was announced last week that Aldi has been allowed to keep selling its caterpillar cake with a new look, following a legal dispute with M&S over copyright infringement.

Marks and Spencer has reached an agreement with budget retailer Aldi over the similarity of its Cuthbert the Caterpillar cake to favourite M&S confectionary Colin the Caterpillar.

The lawsuit was filed by M&S in April 2021, with the aim of forcing Aldi to remove its Cuthbert cake from sale and agree not to sell anything that resembles Colin in the future.

Deputy Master Timothy John Bowles signed off an agreement in a consent order filed this week at the High Court, resolving the case. Read more on that here.
